The campaign for the Capital City Hall has ended. Continuation of electoral propaganda is prohibited

The campaign for the Capital City Hall, which started on November 22, ended on Saturday, December 6, at 7 o'clock. The continuation of electoral propaganda and the presentation of opinion polls, by any means, are prohibited.

The continuation of electoral propaganda after the end of the campaign is understood as: displaying, launching, placing, promoting, publishing, distributing and/or broadcasting political advertising materials/electoral propaganda materials of any type that refer to the partial local elections for the general mayor of Bucharest; broadcast of electoral messages that refer to partial local elections in any format; exhorting voters to vote or not to vote for certain candidates, in any form.
According to the Municipal Electoral Bureau, maintaining, after the end of the electoral campaign, the electoral content that was published during the campaign on internet pages and on online social media platforms and that remain displayed on the respective pages or applications, without being promoted, does not constitute a continuation of the electoral propaganda after the end of the electoral campaign, with the exception of the version of that material that was redistributed after the end of the campaign, according to the BEM.
On Saturday and Sunday, the removal of political advertising materials/electoral propaganda materials of any type from the building of the headquarters of the voting section in the municipality of Bucharest and from that building is ordered by the president of the electoral office of the voting section and is carried out by the persons designated by the mayor, immediately.
Electoral propaganda actions cannot be carried out
From the moment of the end of the electoral campaign until the end of the voting, the organizers of events of any kind and their participants cannot carry out electoral propaganda actions.
Also during this period, the transmission of text or audio-video messages to users with the aim of influencing the option regarding the exercise of the right to vote qualifies as a continuation of electoral propaganda after the end of the campaign.
It is also prohibited to grant or promise to grant benefits and rewards of any kind for participating in the vote or for manifesting a certain voting option.
Between the end of the electoral campaign and the end of voting, the presentation of opinion polls, by any means, is prohibited.
On Sunday, December 7, the polling day, it is forbidden to present the polls taken at the exit from the polls, before the closing of the voting.
