After the body of a cyclist was discovered on a road in a commune in Botoşani, the police managed to find the driver who had fled immediately after the impact and hid the car involved in the accident.
On Saturday, December 6, 2025, in the morning, several passers-by discovered the body of a man on a road in Tudora commune, Botoșani county, and immediately alerted the police. Arriving at the scene, the law enforcement officers found that the victim, next to whom a bicycle was discovered, was injured by a car, and preliminary investigations identified a 20-year-old driver as the alleged culprit.
Following the investigations, the police identified the fugitive driver on a nearby road and discovered that he had hidden the car in a neighbor's yard, covering it with a tarp over which he placed several sheaves of corn cobs, in an attempt to erase the traces of the accident.

Testing with the breathalyzer showed that the driver had a breath alcohol level of 0.62 mg/l of pure alcohol.
According to the police, the young man was driving in the same direction as the victim, who was riding a bicycle, and was unable to avoid the impact.
Following the collision, the 30-year-old man died on the spot, and the 20-year-old young driver immediately left the scene of the accident, without seeking medical help or notifying the authorities, which is why a criminal case was opened in his name for manslaughter, to which is also added driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of the accident.
