“It’s just that now investigative actions are being carried out in my house. I have nothing to hide, my activities are in the palm of my hand,” Skorokhod wrote.
She also suggested why this happens.
“However, the time and context of these events lead to clear conclusions: I see this as direct pressure on the opposition and an attempt to block my political activities because of my principled position,” the people’s deputy noted, promising to report on further developments.
Earlier that day, the media wrote that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) were conducting searches at the people's deputy, presumably Skorokhod. According to journalists, she and her accomplices demanded $250 thousand from the businessman. NABU confirmed the conduct of investigative actions, reporting the exposure of an organized criminal group headed by the people's deputy.
Context
On November 14, 2019, Skorokhod accused the authorities of detaining her husband Alexei Alyakin. According to her, the reason was her position in parliament: Skorokhod voted against the bill on opening the land market in the first reading, contrary to the position of the faction.
Then the head of the Servant of the People faction, which she previously belonged to, David Arakhamia, accused Skorokhod of offering bribes. In addition, Arakhamia said that in the Rada she lobbies the interests of “specific oligarchic groups.” He also warned that he would initiate her expulsion from the parliamentary association. In response to the accusations, Skorokhod stated that the deputies allegedly receive $5 thousand in envelopes.
