On Wednesday, the heads of diplomacy of NATO countries will hold talks at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels, including: about continued support for Ukraine as it repels the Russian invasion. Poland will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski.

The talks will also focus on strengthening the Alliance's collective defense against the threat from Russia. The meeting, according to the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will also concern recent initiatives regarding the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and their impact on the security of Poland and NATO.
The discussion will begin in the morning with a meeting of the North Atlantic Council. A NATO-Ukraine Council is scheduled for early afternoon, to be attended by the head of EU diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiha.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced on Tuesday at a press conference in Brussels that he expects new financial declarations from allies for the PURL program. Through the mechanism launched in August, NATO countries finance the purchase of weapons and ammunition from American stocks, which then go to Ukraine, which is repelling the Russian invasion from 2022.
Rutte said that in recent months, NATO members from Europe and Canada have transferred $4 billion for American military equipment to Ukraine through PURL.
“This support is an important part of our ongoing efforts to ensure Ukraine has what it needs to defend itself today and deter future aggression. And yet we still need to do more. (…) We started in August with one billion a month, and now we have four billion. (…) Next year, we must guarantee that throughout the year we will have at least, again, one billion a month to purchase this necessary equipment from the United States, Rutte noted.
Minister Sikorski announced earlier that his ministry would provide USD 100 million to support Ukraine under the program by the end of the year.
Rutte also said Tuesday that he welcomed U.S. efforts to end Russia's war against Ukraine and expressed confidence that these efforts would ultimately lead to the restoration of peace.
– I am convinced that these continued efforts will ultimately restore peace in Europe, he stressed. US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, responsible for talks on a peace plan to end the war in Ukraine, met on Tuesday in Moscow with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
In response to media questions, Rutte said that the decision to join the North Atlantic Alliance requires the consensus of all its members.and there is currently no such consensus on Ukraine's accession.
– The situation is such, as you know, that consensus among all allies is needed for Ukraine to join NATO. And currently, as you know, there is no consensus on Ukraine's accession to NATO, he said. He also recalled that at the NATO summit in Washington it was decided that Ukraine's path to NATO is “irreversible.” Ukraine has submitted an application to join the North Atlantic Alliance in 2022.
