Americans talked to Ukrainians in Florida
On Sunday, representatives of the US and Ukrainian authorities held talks in Florida on ending the Russian invasion of Ukraine. On the American side, they were attended by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Witkoff and President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and the Ukrainian delegation was led by Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
According to Axios, Witkoff and Kushner are expected to participate in the Moscow talks with Putin. Rubio described the talks in Florida as “productive”, but noted that “there is still much work to be done.” Umerov, on the other hand, described the meeting with the US delegation as “fruitful and successful.”
On Monday, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris. They talked together with Witkoff and Umerov. Their talks in videoconference format with several leaders of European and NATO countries and institutions were also reported.
