In Krasnoyarsk, 650 thousand rubles were returned to the victim of fraudsters (video)

Krasnoyarsk police officers returned the money to the pensioner, which she gave to the scammers' accomplice.

It was established that a 77-year-old resident of the Sverdlovsk region received a call from a false representative of Energosbyt and assured that the meters in her apartment needed to be changed. To sign up for the service, the victim was asked to provide her passport details and SNILS number, which she did. Then with a woman fake law enforcement officers contacted and stated that by providing personal information, she had given access to all her bank accounts to criminals. To avoid problems with the law, the woman was offered to withdraw all her savings and hand them over to the courier – supposedly the policeman should take the bills to the department, where they would be “declared” and then returned.

“Within two days, my grandmother collected 650 thousand rubles and gave it to a young man who came to her home. After this, the courier went to a financial institution to transfer money to the scammers’ account, where he was stopped by employees who called law enforcement officers. The 19-year-old courier was detained and taken to the police department. The money he took from the victim was seized. As it turned out, the young man found an advertisement on the Internet about easy money and agreed to the conditions – he had to collect money from the specified addresses and transfer it to an unknown account, for which he was promised to pay 2% of the amount,” said the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The victim’s savings were returned, and in relation to the earlier A criminal case was opened against an unconvicted Krasnoyarsk resident under Part 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud on a large scale”, which provides for up to 6 years of imprisonment.
