Journalist Cristian Tudor Popescu says that his vote “will not lead to victory”, but he sees potential in it.

“I'm also going to cast a vote that doesn't lead to winning. I'm going to cast the vote for this girl, Ana Ciceală,” Cristian Tudor Popescu announced on Tuesday, on the show “Romania en direct”, from Europa FM.

“Yes, I will vote for Ana Ciceală, being aware that she cannot win and I hope that she will win in a few years. I see remarkable potential in this young politician,” CTP also said.

How is Ana Ciceăla doing in the polls

The AtlasIntel survey published on Monday by HotNews showed that Ana Ciceală, from SENS, is in fifth place, after Cătălin Drula, from USR.

Cicela is credited with 8.4% of the vote, a slight increase from the previous AtlasIntel poll, which then first credited her with 7.1%.

Daniel Băluță, PSD candidate, and Anca Alexandrescu, supported by AUR, lead in the voting intentions of Bucharest residents. According to the survey, Daniel Băluță is credited with 23.3% and is followed by Anca Alexandrescu, with 23.2%. 1.5% behind them is PNL mayor Ciprian Ciucu, credited with 21.7%.

On Tuesday, Ana Ciceală told HotNews that she is not withdrawing from the race for Bucharest in favor of Ciprian Ciucu.

“People's votes are not pawned, they are not bags of votes that some politicians can walk from one candidate to another, we have to look at who is the best person to lead the capital of the country,” she said.
