A court in the Krasnoyarsk Territory sentenced the former head of the Poymensky forestry to 11 years of strict regime. The ex-official received bribes totaling 5.5 million rubles for assistance in illegal logging.
According to the prosecutor's office, from 2017 to 2020 the man systematically received 100 rubles from the entrepreneur for each cubic meter of harvested wood. For this money, he signed documents, allocated valuable cutting areas and disguised commercial logging as the preparation of firewood for the population.

Later, in 2020, the ex-manager received 1.5 million rubles for appointing his friend to the position of deputy, and in 2022 – another 1 million rubles for allocating cutting areas to another businessman. The money was transferred at night near the forestry building.
In addition, at the beginning of 2023, illegally stored ammunition was found at a man’s home. The court also imposed a fine of 10 million rubles on him and banned him from holding leadership positions in the forestry industry for seven years.
His accomplices had previously been sentenced to real terms.
