The incident occurred in the middle of an already tense game. Chelsea was playing inferior from the 38th minute, when Caicedo was eliminated with a straight “red” for hitting Mikel Merino.

And after entering the field, Madueke was the victim of a challenge from his former colleagues. At one point, Enzo Fernandez dispossessed him on the edge of Chelsea's box, to then, together with Marc Cucurella, celebrate in front of him, ostentatiously.

It would, fortunately, be the last unpleasant moment the 23-year-old winger had to endure. After the final whistle of the match decided by the goals of Trevoh Chalobah (min. 48), respectively Mikel Merino (min. 59), the Chelsea players greeted Madueke in a friendly manner and joked together. And Reece James even hugged him!
The England international moved from the Blues to arch-rivals Arsenal in the summer for a fee of £52m (€56m). Before that, he had played two seasons in a Chelsea shirt, recording a respectable record: 20 goals and 9 assists in 92 appearances in all competitions.
