Former international Raul Rusescu analyzed the match Farul – FCSB 1-2on GSP Live, and got angry when he heard about the accusations of blackmail being made online.

On National Day, Rusescu came live with the shirt he wore in 2014 in the friendly match played by Romania with Argentina, score 0-0, at the National Arena. On that occasion, Lionel Messi was the first and only time so far in Romania.

“What surprised me was that they didn't warm up for that match. They came in, played and left,” said Raul Rusescu about the match against Argentina.

Then, he went on to analyze Sunday night's match between Farul and FCSB, his former team.

“It was the only thing that mattered for the champion of Romania and it happened, that is, to get the 3 points. Otherwise, nothing mattered. They met a tough opponent, and FCSB prevailed in a tough away game,” said Raul Rusescu, initially, in the Gazeta studio.

Then, the moderator Alexandru Barbu conveyed to Rusescu that several comments from the online environment claim that the match is suspiciously rigged. Moment in which the former striker got angry.

“Let's get the (no-blame) stuff over with. Let's stop believing that stuff. It was a game where one team played better in one half and worse in the other. It happens in 99% of games. In League 1, unfortunately, we see mistakes in the interpretation of simple phases. And the game waits for mistakes”, declared Rusescu.

The GSP Live expert continued the analysis: “I was surprised that FCSB, the one-time champion, were surprised twice when they were in the lead. At 2-0, on the penalty. Then, at 2-1, on Markovic's big chance.”

  • The suspicions about the match in Ovidiu come after another game between the two, played in 2013 and won by Hagi's team 5-2, raised suspicions and comments over time. Viitorul (current Farul) then needed victory to save itself from relegation. Rusescu played one inning in that match and has claimed on multiple occasions on GSP Live over the past two years that the match was “clean”.
