We drive out parasites without harm to health: the doctor warned that medicines for worms can be dangerous

In the modern world, the Internet and technology make it possible to quickly search for health information, make diagnoses, and even select medications. But doctors are still categorically against self-diagnosis, and even more so self-medication.

Doctor Ekaterina Kashukh spoke about why you shouldn’t independently determine the presence of parasites in the body in an interview with RIAMO on the pages of Belnovosti (18+).

According to the expert, signs of possible parasite infestation include:

  • weakness and loss of appetite
  • digestive disorders
  • itching and rashes on the skin
  • allergic reactions
  • insomnia

However, the doctor warns, these manifestations are not always associated with parasites.

Similar symptoms may be caused by other factors. For example, overwork and stress or mild food poisoning. Therefore, any independent attempts at prevention or taking medications against parasites can be dangerous.

Uncontrolled use of anthelmintics and other drugs can greatly affect the body. In worst cases this leads to toxic damage to the liver and kidneys.

The expert strongly advises: if you suspect a parasitic infection, contact only a doctor who will prescribe tests and safe treatment.

Important: This information is not a substitute for consulting a doctor. The body's response to changes in diet/training may depend on individual physiology, genetic predisposition and health status. It is recommended to consult a specialist.
