Spectacular images from the U17 women's national team match

It rained torrentially in Bucharest from the early hours of the morning, and the matches played outside offered spectacular images, which were immortalized by photojournalists.

Romania's Under 17 women's national football team also had a match today, against Switzerland, at the National Football Center in Buftea.

After 0-0 in the first match against Austria, our national team lost to Switzerland, score 1-2. The tricolors led at halftime after Sophie Cojanu opened the scoring in the 3rd minute.

But Switzerland came back in the second half, with goals from Steffen in the 48th minute and Leutwyler in the 63rd minute sealing victory for the visitors.

According to frf.ro, Romania will play the decisive match against Ukraine on Tuesday, to stay in League A. This after Ukraine was defeated in the first two matches, 0-1 against Switzerland and 0-4 against Austria.

From 22 November to 3 December 2025, the U17 women's national team is hosting the first qualifying round for the 2026 UEFA WU17 European Championship.
