Antalyaspor central defender Umit Akdag (22 years old) has been put on the transfer list by Beşiktaş, one of the most important clubs in Turkey.

The good developments of the footballer with dual citizenship, Romanian and Turkish, attracted the attention of Sergen Yalcin, the coach of Beşiktaş, a team that is not going through a good period. The Whites are in 7th place in the championship and want to strengthen in the winter transfer window.

Turkish press: “Beşiktaş wants Umit Akdag”

“Umit Akdag, the backbone of the defense, is also in the Beşiktaş coach's attention. The 1.92-meter central defender is known for his efficiency in the air, but also for his strong physique.

He is under contract with Alanyaspor until June 30, 2028. Umit Akdag's defensive qualities have the potential to give Beşiktaş the strength and confidence they need,” noted the Turks from fotomac.

At Antalyaspor, Akdag is a colleague of Ianis Hagi. This season, the central defender played 13 matches for the club team, during which he also scored one goal.

He was born in Bucharest, but he chose not to play for the Romanian national team, even though he collected 10 matches and two goals for the under 21 national team, with which he participated in the European Youth Championship last summer.

Akdag has a market share worth 900,000 euros and was a junior at FCSB, but also at Chelsea. Last season he was loaned by the Turks in France, in Toulouse.

(no – do you choose Romania or Turkey?) I have nothing to say about that now. I am with Romania here. I have to make a choice. U21 is over. I didn't say that I made a choice, I don't know, I didn't think. At the moment, I haven't decided.

The family lets me decide, but I really don't know, to be honest. At the moment I'm still in Turkey, but I don't know if I'll stay there. Let me talk to the manager, now I want a week's vacation, then we'll see.
