NABU, established in 2014, plays a key role in the fight against corruption at higher levels of Ukrainian government. The office conducts investigations against state officials, politicians and managers of state-owned companies. Its creation was one of the key conditions for Ukraine's cooperation with the European Union and the International Monetary Fund. In turn, SAP supervises the proceedings and submits indictments to the courts.
