UEFA announced the squads for the first leg of the UEFA Women's Nations League final, Germany v Spain, on Wednesday. The game takes place on Friday, November 28, from 21:30 at Kaiserslautern.

The European Forum designated Iuliana Demetrescu as “central”, the one who refereed several matches in the Super League this season. The announcement was made by the Romanian Football Federation (FRF), through an official statement.

Iuliana Demetrescu will referee Germany – Spain, the round leg of the Women's League of Nations final

“The Romanian referee marks yet another landmark moment on the European football scene. UEFA has officially announced the delegations for the first leg of the UEFA Women's Nations League final, Germany – Spain.

The game scheduled for November 28, from 21:30, at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion in Kaiserslautern, will have Iuliana Demetrescu in the center. She will be assisted on the two lines by the assistant referees Mihaela Țepusă and Roxana Ivanov, the fourth official being the Croatian Ivana Martincic.

Likewise, the VAR room will also be Romania's responsibility, the team here being made up of Cătălin Popa (VAR) and Ovidiu Hațegan (AVAR). The second leg of the final will take place on Tuesday, December 2, in Madrid”, notes FRF.

The news comes in the context in which the Romanian referee enjoyed another achievement last season, when Istvan Kovacs led the center of the men's Champions League final, won by PSG in front of Inter, score 5-0.

Iuliana Demetrescu is an international referee with matches in the Super League and European cups, including the women's Champions League. Until three years ago, she was a teacher at the “Take Ionescu” Secondary School in Râmnicu Vâlcea, but for the moment she put a break in her educational activities.

Every referee wants to referee the finals of important competitions or have participation in important competitions.

It seems to me that these things are part of my work, of the goals I have, and somehow I like it to stay that way. I work for them every day.
