Trump associate is either a Russian agent or a fool [KOMENTARZ]

Theoretically, there are, of course, two more options: the third, in which Witkoff is both a fool and an agent, and the fourth, in which he pretends to be a fool and in fact follows the orders of the President of the United States, who, for one reason or another, has decided to act in accordance with the Kremlin's interests in the Ukraine matter.
Whether the United States has been infiltrated by Russians or is “merely” ruled by people who are not very bright is a fundamental question, but also one to which we will probably never know the answer.
The United States will feel the effects of what is happening before our eyes for many years to come.
It took the UK several dozen years to regain credibility after Kim Philbie fled to Moscow, and the US will be treated as a not entirely serious country for years. The power of the United States, of course, means that no one will turn their back on Washington. Poland cannot do it either. Nevertheless, we have no choice but to start assuming that the highest levels of power in the USA are occupied by Russian agents or fools working for Russia.

We need to change our approach to Americans. How the US uses evasion
This means that we have to start asking Americans tough questions. The peace plan that the US sent to Ukraine included points that directly undermine our sovereignty. We cannot ignore something like this, especially since it is a common occurrence.
The Americans themselves clearly do not care about this. An example is the United States ambassador, Thomas Rose, who has recently been residing in Warsaw and who, in firm words, defended Poland against accusations of complicity in the Holocaust. The fact that Ambassador Rose decided to defend our country is nice. Poland as a state did not actually collaborate with the Germans, most Poles behaved decently, and blackmail and crimes such as the one in Jedwabne, although they are a stain on our honor, do not give anyone the right to put us almost in one row with the Germans.
All this means that the ambassador's words must be appreciated. However, it is worth asking why these words were said now and whether they are not the equivalent of the media insertions of the American Embassy from years past? So far, whenever Americans had to be asked difficult questions, American lobbyists brought up the issue of abolishing visas to the US in the Polish public debate. The problem was that the visa issue was secondary to other issues and one that was not up to the US administration to resolve.
Visas thus served as a substitute topic that Americans wanted us to deal with instead of really important issues.
Defending Poland's good name in relation to our behavior towards Jews during World War II is, of course, important, but it is also a secondary topic compared to what the Trump administration is doing regarding European security.
It is worth remembering this in our contacts, both with the United States ambassador in Warsaw and the American administration, and this time not avoiding asking Americans difficult questions.
It's nice that Ambassador Rose is defending us. But what is much more important is whether the US intends to defend us against Russia.
