In the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a resident of the village of Vanavara saved a rare bird from death. Airline representatives reported this KrasAvia»who organized the transportation of the swan to Krasnoyarsk.

Vanavara resident Alexander Kharchenko said that he noticed the cries of crows circling above him. The man raised his head and saw a large gray bird falling to the ground.

Approaching the place of the fall, I discovered that the bird, similar to a goose or swan, practically did not move and was covered with a crust of ice. He took her home and warmed her up. For some time the bird showed no signs of life, but after about an hour it began to come to its senses – raise its head, stand on its paws and make sounds», the press service said.

The man contacted representatives of the Tungussky Nature Reserve and informed them about the find. Experts have determined that this is a male whooper swan born this year. This species is listed in the Red Book of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

They took out the bird and gave it the name Tungus. Recently the swan on an airplane brought to Krasnoyarsk and handed over to “Royev Stream”». Tungus is currently in quarantine. In the future, he will create a pair with a young female whooper swan, who has already lives at the zoo.

Let us remind you that rare migratory birds are often rescued in the northern territories of Siberia. So in 2023, a red-listed swan was rescued in Krasnoyarsk on Lake Meat Processing Plant. The flamingo Grisha, who was brought from Yakutia, lives in Roevoy Ruchek. In 2021, a red-listed demoiselle crane was rescued in the Bolshemurtinsky district.
