Siberian Federal University, among 106 other Priority universities, will receive grants for the implementation of the Development Program.

This decision was announced by the head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, Valery Falkov, following the results of the work of the Council to support development programs for universities participating in the Priority 2030 program.

Council meetings chaired by the head of the Ministry of Education and Science are a key event for participants in the Priority 2030 program. From November 18 to November 21, over four days, the Ministry, experts from business and the scientific community reviewed the preliminary results of the universities. 99 universities, as well as candidate universities that were recommended for participation in the main track of the program, spoke to the Council.

“The result of this work was an updated list of Priority universities. A total of 106 universities will receive support under the program this year. The total amount of funds that will be distributed among universities will be 26.8 billion rubles. It is important to note that the recipients of subsidies are predominantly regional universities. Today, they compete on a par with leading Moscow and St. Petersburg universities for the best results from the implementation of their strategic technological projects,” said Valery Falkov.

The main track of the program included 87 universities from 36 regions of the country. Main track universities are divided into three groups. Siberian Federal University, as last year, entered the third group, rising by almost 20 points – each 52 universities in this group will receive up to 100 million rubles.

In the SFU team, the annual report and the Development Program were presented to the Council of the state program “Priority 2030” by acting. O. rector Maxim Rumyantsev, vice-rectors Sergey Verkhovets and Denis Guts, as well as Pavel Yuryev, head of the strategic technology project, and head of the Project Office Nikita Pikov.

“The project presented at the defense is our solution to current problems in non-ferrous metallurgy. We're not just replacing foreign suppliers – we're creating new technological approaches that will change an entire industry.

Our developments – ultrasonic processing of alloys, 3D printing of large structures – are being implemented in aviation, space and energy. We are not catching up, but creating something that did not exist in Russia before. This is a real step towards technological independence, and we are ready to scale the project to the entire industry,” noted Maxim Rumyantsev after the defense.

The Russian Ministry of Education and Science notes that there was a rotation of participants in each of the three groups. In addition, 13 universities of the third group became candidates for participation in the program. A total of 34 universities received candidate status for participation in the program in the main track.
