Outstanding surgeon Alexander Revenko died in Krasnoyarsk

An outstanding surgeon with 47 years of experience died in Krasnoyarsk at the age of 77. Alexander Revenko. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Health.

Alexander Revenko worked for many years at Hospital No. 20, where he came being a student. From 1974 to 1975 he worked in the anesthesiology department as a medical brother. After graduating from the institute and residency in 1978, he was hired as a doctor in the pediatric surgical department. In 1990, he successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis. In 1998, Alexander Viktorovich was appointed Deputy Chief Physician for Surgery and for 20 years headed the adult and pediatric surgery services, and since 2018 he has worked as an expert surgeon in the quality control department of medical care.

Alexander Revenko’s professional baggage includes more than 15 published works, about 10 rationalization proposals introduced into practical healthcare, and hundreds of rescue stories. His impeccable work and great contribution to the development of the surgical healthcare service of Krasnoyarsk were awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation in 2007, and in 2014 – the badge “Excellence in Healthcare of the Russian Federation.” In 2006, Revenko was recognized by the Association of Children's Doctors of the Krasnoyarsk Territory as the best children's doctor of the year in the category “Physician-organizer of children's healthcare.”

“Alexander Viktorovich is one of those who could not sit still. Energetic, restless, loud, charming and affable, he was aware of all events. As a recognized authority, his colleagues told him about their new ideas, consulted him in difficult clinical cases, and trusted him with their hopes. Everyone knows his decency and spiritual purity. The team loved and respected him. Revenko is remembered as the father of the surgical service, who knew how to praise and scold, but always to the point and fairly. He infected everyone with strength of spirit and worldly wisdom. Until his last days, Alexander Viktorovich came to his colleagues, told stories about the work of the hospital in different years, and one could always feel his love and pride for the years passed together with the 20th,” the obituary says.
