These new missile and drone attacks took place while Russia, which has threatened to intensify its bombing campaign if Kiev does not accept US President Donald Trump's 28-point plan to end the conflict, rejected on Monday a European counterproposal to this plan, which it considers largely favorable to its interests, writes Agerpres.

“A massive combined enemy attack against energy infrastructures is underway”the Ukrainian energy minister wrote on Telegram early Tuesday morning.

As winter approaches, Russia has been systematically attacking Ukraine's power stations and power stations since launching its invasion in 2022, causing widespread blackouts. This year, the attacks have intensified and also target gas installations.

Kiev, for its part, regularly targets Russian oil depots and refineries and other installations. During the night from Monday to Tuesday, a Ukrainian air attack left at least three dead and three wounded in Taganrog, on the Sea of Azov, the mayor of the city, Svetlana Kambulova, announced on Telegram.

Authorities in Russia's Krasnodar region on the Black Sea also reported a large-scale Ukrainian airstrike against several towns.

“Last night, the Krasnodar region suffered one of the most sustained and massive attacks by the Kiev regime. Six residents of the region were injured, and at least 20 houses in five municipalities were damaged.” wrote the regional governor, Veniamin Kondratiev, on Telegram.

In Kiev, several series of explosions were heard early Tuesday morning, according to AFP correspondents, after a nationwide air alert. Authorities reported at least six people injured.

“There is a missile threat throughout Ukraine,” warned on Telegram, the head of the military administration of Kyiv, Timur Tkacenko.

“Shahed drones and enemy cruise missiles are in the air. There is also a threat of ballistic missile launches and +Kinjal +”, he added.

Air defense has been activated and is “shooting down enemy targets”, Timur Tkacenko said, urging the population to stay in shelters.

AFP journalists heard several explosions and drones, while several rockets were shot down over the capital.

The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Kliciko, reported that water and electricity supplies were affected in the capital.

This latest night of clashes comes after Russia on Monday rejected European proposals to amend Trump's plan for Ukraine.

“We learned about a European plan which, at first sight, is not constructive at all and is unacceptable for us”, said the diplomatic adviser of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Yuri Ushakov, according to the official TASS news agency.

Discussions between Ukrainians, Americans and Europeans were urgently convened on Sunday in Geneva based on the plan presented by the American president, which was well received by Moscow. This plan mainly includes the surrender of Ukrainian territories and is equivalent to a capitulation of Kiev.

During those negotiations, the United States pressured Ukraine to accept its proposals, a senior official familiar with the talks told AFP. However, the White House spokeswoman emphasized that it is “completely wrong” the idea that Donald Trump and his administration favor Russia.

While Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the progress on Monday, he appreciated the need for “much more” to achieve “real peace” with Russia and end the bloodiest conflict in Europe since the Second World War.
