US President Donald Trump on Sunday accused Ukrainian leaders of showing “no gratitude” to the United States as they try to force a deal to end the war with Russia, a deal contested by Kiev.
In a message posted on his Truth Social social network, the leader of the White House also criticizes the Europeans, “who continue to buy oil from Russia”, and his predecessor, Joe Biden, whom he accuses of inaction at the time of the outbreak of the conflict.
“Zero Gratitude”
In his all-caps post, Donald Trump accuses Ukraine's leadership (with quotation marks on the word leadership) of having “zero gratitude” for US efforts to end the war.
- “The war between Russia and Ukraine is a violent and terrible one that, with strong and proper LEADERSHIP on the part of the United States and Ukraine, WOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED. It started long before I took office for a second term, during the administration of Sleepy Joe Biden, and has only gotten worse since then.
- If the 2020 presidential election hadn't been FIXED and STOLEN, the only thing the far-left democrats are good at, there would have been no Ukraine-Russia war, as there was not even a mention of it during my first term.
- Putin would never have attacked! It wasn't until he saw Sleepy Joe in action that he said, “Now's my chance!” The rest is history and so on.
- WE INHERITED A WAR THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED, A WAR THAT IS A DEFEAT FOR EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WHO DIED SO NEEDLESSLY.
- UKRAINE'S 'LEADERSHIP' HAS SHOWN ZERO APPRECIATION FOR OUR EFFORTS AND EUROPE CONTINUES TO BUY OIL FROM RUSSIA.
- USA CONTINUES TO SELL HUGE AMOUNTS OF WEAPONS TO NATO TO BE DISTRIBUTED IN UKRAINE (CORRUPTED JOE GAVE EVERYTHING FOR FREE, FREE, FREE, INCLUDING “A LOT” OF MONEY!).
- GOD BLESS ALL THE LIVES LOST IN THIS HUMAN DISASTER! DJT President”.
Senior officials from the US, Ukraine and national security advisers from France, Britain and Germany are meeting in Geneva on Sunday to discuss the Trump administration's draft deal to end the war in Ukraine.
The meeting comes as Donald Trump said on Friday that Volodymyr Zelensky has until Thursday to approve his 28-point plan, which calls for Ukraine to cede territory, accept limitations on its military and abandon ambitions to join NATO.
Kiev and its European allies expressed concern over what they saw as major concessions to the aggressor Russia.
Trump confirms he has given Ukraine an ultimatum to accept his peace plan by next Thursday. “He'll have to like it”
