Two men were detained by Bistrita policemen, after picking up a package from Spain containing two lethal weapons, including a night vision device, announces IPJ Bistrita-Năsăud.
The two men, 46 and 36 years old, from the town of Strâmba, were caught in a flagrant organized on Friday, November 21, within the radius of the town of Prundu Bârgăului, by the law enforcement officers.
“The two were spotted while picking up a package that was allegedly shipped from Spain by a 48-year-old man, through a courier company. Inside were two lethal long guns, one for sport shooting and one for hunting, a silencer and a device for night vision,” IPJ Bistriţa-Năsăud reported on Sunday.
At the time of the intervention, the 36-year-old man tried to run away, being immediately intercepted and immobilized by the police.
“Subsequently, the police executed two home search warrants, as part of the criminal file drawn up regarding the crimes of qualified smuggling and non-compliance with the arms and ammunition regime”, the representatives of IPJ Bistriţa-Năsăud also sent.
The two detained persons will be presented to the magistrates with a proposal to take some preventive measures, the investigations being continued by the police officers of the Bureau of Weapons, Explosives and Dangerous Substances
