Russian scientists connected a rat's brain to artificial intelligence: the laboratory animal was able to correctly answer hundreds of scientific questions
A large Russian biotech laboratory, together with scientists from Moscow State University, conducted a unique experiment, in which the developers connected the brain of a laboratory rat, Pythia, to a neural interface.
This device works in tandem with AI, which suggests the correct answer by influencing the brain. The electrodes of the neural interface allow you to stimulate special areas of the rodent’s brain, and it experiences different sensations when it is necessary to answer “yes” and “no,” which allows it to make the right choice.
The rat correctly answered hundreds of scientific questions – about quasars, myelin sheaths, the Python language and Albert Einstein's birthday.
