At the United by Mining forum in Kyiv, they talked about creating a new ecosystem to support the industry. It is a state program that will consider industry not only as a source of raw materials, but as a foundation for investment, innovation and competitive products.
For example, the mining industry has a multiplier effect: 1 job here creates 4 more in related sectors. But in order for industry to grow, predictable tariff and tax policies, trade diplomacy, access to finance and a solution to the problem of labor shortages are needed.

Since the beginning of the war, Metinvest has paid UAH 64 billion in taxes, as well as provided UAH 9 billion in aid to the state and citizens. As part of Rinat Akhmetov's “Steel Front” initiative, the company supplies the Armed Forces with steel products for body armor, dugouts, mine trawls, supplies equipment, ammunition and helps in the construction of fortifications. At the same time, 60% of Metinvest's business is the mining industry.
