The USR candidate for the Capital City Hall, Cătălin Drula, claims that he had nothing to do with Ludovic Orban's release from the position of presidential adviser, stating that he would not allow himself to ask President Nicusor Dan for this, writes News.ro. Cătălin Drula believes that Ludovic Orban will return to the PNL – through the merger of his party, Forţa Dreptei, with the PNL – and that he will announce his support for Ciprian Ciucu.

Asked, in the Insider Politic show on Prima TV, if he asked the president Nicuşor Dan to release former PNL president Ludovic Orban from the post of presidential advisor, Cătălin Drula denied, stressing that “he would not allow such a gesture”.

“You will probably see Mr. Orban now at the PNL, the Forza Dreptei is merging with the PNL. There are things that everyone in politics knows, but we are used to putting this garbage under the carpet. Look, I don't want to put it under the carpet, I want to stand with my head held high, no matter how many mobsters they send, how many they call me, because if I could see myself… no I see myself with none of you, I see myself only with the voters on December 7, and yes, in this direction I am crazy and I am a dog, if you consider that. I think I am only human and I have a voice”, said Cătălin Drula.

He said that he has “a great intuition” that Ludovic Orban will return to the PNL and announce that he supports Ciprian Ciucu.

“And that's why he made some statements that were lies, when he said about President Nicusor Dan that he doesn't actually support us, that we took him for granted. I think that President Nicusor Dan's gesture responded to this. I don't comment on the gesture, I wasn't part of it, it's the president's freedom to choose his advisors, but I think he absolutely made it clear to you clear. If you feel a revolt in my voice, it's because there are layers of lies in Romanian politics, these people, instead of coming to a debate… They don't want to come to any debate, neither Băluţă, nor Ciucu. What do they have to hide?” added Cătălin Drula.
