Marc-Andre ter Stegen could leave Barcelona this winter, to defend and re-enter the circuit of the German national team.

After a long period of inactivity caused by back surgery in the summer, Marc-Andre ter Stegen has returned to Barcelona training. But he has no chance to return between goals, as he was demoted by coach Hansi Flick as the third option, after Joan Garcia and Wojciech Szczęsny.

Beşiktaş wants Marc-Andre ter Stegen on loan until the summer. He also takes his salary

Given that the German coach, Julian Nagelsmann, told him that he must play at the club if he wants to be in the 2026 World Cup squad, Ter Stegen takes the option of a transfer very seriously. Nagelsmann: “The winter transfer window is never very easy. I don't make it a condition that he plays for a top club. If he plays, he better play pretty well.”

The good news is that, according to the Spanish newspaper “Sport”, Barcelona have already received a concrete offer for Ter Stegen. Beşiktaş Istanbul would like to take the 33-year-old goalkeeper on loan for six months in the January transfer window. An option to buy, for 8 million euros, is also being discussed as part of the transaction. Also, the Turks are willing to take over his entire salary, until the summer.

Barcelona pay Marc-Andre ter Stegen 6.3 million euros per season

The same Sport specifies that Barcelona will not put a stick in Ter Stegen's wheels. The Catalan club will leave the decision entirely up to the German goalkeeper, because they have every interest in getting rid of the high salary he earns.

According to several sources, he is paid by the Spanish champions 6.3 million euros net per season, which means around 14 million euros gross. Ter Stegen has a contract with Barcelona until 2028.
