A mural with Cossack heroes appeared in Podtesovo / Cultural news of Krasnoyarsk and the Krasnoyarsk Territory / Newslab.Ru

The facade of the Cossack cadet corps in the village of Podtesovo in the Yenisei district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was decorated with a large-scale mural.
Two heroes are depicted on the wall – the explorer, Yakut ataman Semyon Dezhnev and the modern commander of the Siberia volunteer battalion Oleg Likontsev, awarded the title of Hero of Russia.
As reported by the regional Ministry of Education, the portraits of outstanding Cossacks were created as part of the all-Russian project “Cossack Heroes: Yesterday and Today.” In 2025, murals will appear on the walls of ten educational institutions in the country.
“The project gives young people a sense of belonging to the country’s history. Thanks to such initiatives, the names of heroes become a living part of the educational space,” noted Tatyana Gridasova, Minister of Education of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The project is being implemented with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives and is aimed at preserving the memory of both historical figures and modern heroes.
