The thermometers in Moscow showed 9.9 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, a record for the last 85 years, meteorologists announced.
According to Evgueni Tishkovets, one of the most popular “weathermen” in Russia, the record for November 18 dates from 1940 when 9.4 degrees Celsius were recorded, reports Agerpres.
“A heat record was broken in Moscow,” Tishkovets wrote on his Telegram channel.
At the same time, forecasts predict a drastic drop in temperatures in the Russian capital during this week.
And in the capital of the Ural Mountains region, Ekaterinburg, this week a heat record that dates back 188 years was broken, with thermometers indicating 8 degrees Celsius.
In September, the temperature in Moscow reached 26.2 degrees Celsius, the highest value in the last 140 years of meteorological observations.
