The 2026 World Cup preliminaries continue on Tuesday night with 10 matches, all scheduled simultaneously, from 21:45. They are playing in groups B, C, E, H and J, and the Romanians will be directly interested in what happens in the Austria-Bosnia and Scotland-Denmark duels. Romania also plays from the same time a match that no longer counts for anything, with San Marino.
Why are we still interested in the results of two other games? Italy and Turkey they confirmed their place in the first ballot box for next spring's play-off, from which Romania's opponent will be chosen. In the real-time configuration, Poland and Ukraine fills the next two spots, but the situation is not finalized.
-
On the one hand, if Denmark (1st place in the group, 11 points) loses in Scotland (2nd place in the group, 10 points), then there will be a rotation in the ranking, and the Danes will reach the play-offs. At that point, the Nordics will take over Poland in the first urn for the dam.
-
On the other hand, if Austria (1st place, 18 points) loses the home match to Bosnia and Herzegovina (2nd place, 16 points), in Romania's group, the Austrians will miss the direct qualification to the World Championship and will go to the play-off from second place, in the first ballot, in place Ukraine.
