Artyom Dzyuba was called up to the national team for matches with Grenada and Zambia. He may play for the national team for the first time under Valery Karpin, with whom he had a conflict since the days of Spartak.
According to Mash, initially the footballer was not even on the extended list. Then Dzyuba himself took the initiative – in the last three matches he scored three goals. Later, Karpin contacted him and asked about his readiness to join the national team. So they buried the hatchet and shook hands.
Valery Karpin's team will play friendly matches against Grenada and Zambia on March 19 and 25. Both games will take place at the Dynamo Arena in Moscow.
Dzyuba has 30 goals in 55 matches for the national team. In terms of goals scored for the national team, he shares first place with Alexander Kerzhakov. The last time the footballer played for the national team was at Euro 2020, when the team was still led by Stanislav Cherchesov.
