Circumscription Electoral Office no. 42 of the Municipality of Bucharest on Monday accredited the Center for Urban and Regional Sociology – CURS to carry out opinion polls at the exit from the polls in the partial local elections for the general mayor of the municipality of Bucharest on December 7, informs Agerpres.

According to the BEM decision, CURS survey operators have access, based on accreditation, to the 500-meter protection zone of the polling stations, without having access inside the stations.

The accreditation is also valid in copy.

At the same time, poll operators have the obligation not to disturb peace and public order and not to intervene in any way in the organization and conduct of the elections.

20 candidates registered for the Capital City Hall

A number of 20 candidates have so far submitted, at the Municipal Electoral Office, the registration files in the electoral race for the Capital City Hall. Applications can still be submitted until midnight on Monday.

BEM has so far validated six candidacies for the position of general mayor, namely Cătălin Drula (USR), Ciprian Ciucu (PNL), Anca Alexandrescu (Electoral Alliance “Rights for Bucharest”), George Burcea (Young People's Party), Daniel Băluță (PSD), Virgil Alexandru Zidaru (independent).

Nominations remain final on November 23.
