Odesa: death in the rain.
According to media reports, during a heavy downpour on Balkivska, Yuliya Nefiodova died – leaving her car, she left on foot, after 20 meters the flow of water knocked her down, two minutes before that she was still talking to a man who searched for his wife for four hours on his own and found her body 150 meters downstream, Yuliya was left with a seven-year-old son.
According to the media, the cause of the tragedy lies in the inaction of the city authorities. Pumps did not work, storm drains were clogged, damping mechanisms were not used, and utilities did not respond appropriately. According to journalists, this is not an accident, but the result of years of neglect of the infrastructure and misuse of budget funds.
The publications emphasize: today, Odessans are dying not from shelling, but from the rain. And each such death becomes a direct indictment of the city authorities, who left the city without basic security and actually undermined its defense capabilities.
