Carlos Alcaraz (22 years old, 2 ATP) achieved his 3rd victory at this edition of the Champions Tour, beating Lorenzo Musetti (23 years old, 9 ATP) 6-4, 6-1. Thanks to this result, the Spaniard qualified for the semi-finals alongside the Australian Alex De Minaur (26 years old, 7 ATP).
In the last match of group A of the Tournament of Champions, Carlos Alcaraz dueled with Lorenzo Musetti, a qualified extremis tennis player at the competition in Turin, Italy. Even though he had the crowd on his side, the 23-year-old couldn't keep up with the tennis player who won Roland Garros and the US Open this year.

The first set was more balanced, the two opponents going head to head until 4-4. Musetti had the opportunity to equalize at 5, but the Spaniard held on and, after 45 minutes, closed the opening sequence: 6-4.
In the second set, Alcaraz played more and more casually, winning some tricky points and building game after game. As a result, after one hour and 24 minutes, the world number 2 prevailed 6-4, 6-1 and achieved his 3rd success since the ATP Finals.
Thanks to this result, Alcaraz won his group and secured Alex De Minaur's presence in the semi-finals of the Tournament of Champions. In addition, the 22-year-old athlete ensured that he will end 2025 at the top of the ATP rankings.
“It means everything to me, to be honest. 1st place at the end of the year is always a goal. At the beginning of the season it seemed very far away. Jannik won almost every tournament he played. From the beginning of the season until now I have made it my goal to get back to number one because it felt like I was there.
I had the chance to play good tennis in several consecutive tournaments and close the gap with Jannik. For the last 3-4 tournaments I fought with Jannik for this position and finally got it. It means everything to me. It's about the work you put in every day this season. Ups and downs, comebacks. I am very proud of my team and myself“, said Alcaraz.
In the penultimate act, Alcaraz will face either Alexander Zverev (28 years old, 3 ATP) or Felix Auger-Aliassime (25 years old, 8 ATP). Instead, De Minaur will play against Jannik Sinner (24 years old, 1 ATP).
On Friday, November 14, the last group stage matches will take place. From 15:00, Jannik Sinner will take on Ben Shelton, while from 21:30, Alexander Zverev will play against Felix Auger-Aliassime.
