During the meeting, the president also addressed criticism from one of the political circles, who called him a “vetomat.” Drawing attention to the statistics, Nawrocki explained that he had signed 70 bills so far and vetoed 13. – Statistics clearly show that there are probably too few vetoed bills to call someone a veto, said the president.
Nawrocki emphasized that he was signing the laws resulting from the parliamentary compromise, which serve Poles. He also expressed strong opposition to projects that arouse social controversy or are inconsistent with Polish values. – I do not intend to sign laws that are not the result of a compromise in the Polish parliament – he said.

The president also referred to his decision to veto the amendment regarding assistance to Ukrainian citizens. He explained that, in his opinion, the “800 plus” benefit should only be available to Ukrainians working in Poland. – It was an unfair solution towards Poles, that's why I vetoed it – he said, adding that the government had adapted to his expectations.
During his speech, Nawrocki emphasized that the presidential veto is a tool for protecting national interests. — The nation elects the president to veto laws that are inconsistent with the interests of Poles, he noted.
The President also referred to international issues, announcing actions to reactivate the Visegrad Group and cooperation between the countries of NATO's eastern flank and the Three Seas Initiative.
“Western Europe has made too many mistakes for us to remain indifferent,” he said, pointing to the need to build cooperation formats between the countries of the region.

Nawrocki expressed his opposition to illegal immigration and climate overregulation, describing them as “the ideological madness of Western Europe.”

The president also announced the establishment of the Council for Poles and the Polish diaspora abroad. As he noted, its goal will be to support compatriots living outside Poland.
