CSM CSU Raiffeisen Oradea is close to qualifying for the second phase of the FIBA Europe Cup, after an 87-65 victory over CSM Corona Brașov. Also in the 5th stage of the first phase, CS Vâlcea 1924 was defeated 97-65 by Dinamo Sassari.
On Wednesday, November 12, the teams representing Romania in the FIBA Europe Cup returned to the field in the 5th round of the first phase. CSM CSU Oradea achieved its 4th victory in this competition, while CSM Corona Brașov and CS Vâlcea 1924 received their 5th and 4th defeat, respectively.

Romania's vice-champion dominated the confrontation with CSM Corona Brașov, the yellow-blues causing problems only in the first quarter. Then, Cristian Achim's team took the lead and performed excellently against an opponent in modest form.
CSM CSU Oradea prevailed 87-65, reached a 4-1 record in group C of the FIBA Europe Cup, being close to ensuring its presence in the next phase of the competition. On the other hand, CSM Corona Brașov, with a record of 0-5, only aims to achieve a first European success.
The leaders of the Bihorens were Kalif Young (16 points, 12 rebounds), Jaizec Lottie (15 points, 5 rebounds), Kris Richard (14 points, 5 rebounds) and Roland Torrok (13 points). On the other side, Selim Fofana stood out (17 points, 4 assists).

Also on Wednesday, in a FIBA Europe Cup Group G match, CS Vâlcea 1924 was defeated by a difference of 32 points by Dinamo Sassari: 65-97. The “Black Wolves” were coming after the first European victory in the history of the club and after a success in the championship against FC Argeș Basketball.
However, Arturo Alvarez's students were completely outclassed by the Italians, who won all 4 quarters. Thanks to this success, Dinamo Sassari reached a record of 4-1, while CS Vâlcea 1924 has 1-4 and is eliminated from the competition.
Gian Clavell had another great performance (29 points, 4 steals, 3 assists)while Terrell Harris stood out with 12 points.
Instead, the guests had 5 players with at least 10 points: Nicholas McGlynn (16 points, 13 rebounds), Alessandro Zanelli (15 points), Carlos Marshall (14 points), Rashawn Thomas (11 points, 7 rebounds) and Desure Buie (10 points).
