Part of Russia covered in aurora due to extreme magnetic storm

12 November 18:50
A bright aurora was observed on the night of November 12 due to a G4.7 magnetic storm.
Specialists from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences note that the storm has approached the maximum level of G5 and is caused by the arrival of plasma clouds to the Earth. The echoes of geomagnetic unrest on a planetary scale are still felt.

According to the Ural Meridian news agency, residents of the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk regions and Bashkiria were able to see an unusual sight.
Against the backdrop of geomagnetic disturbances, one of the most powerful aurora zones in recent years has formed over the planet.
