Explosive situation before the duel between Bosnia and Romania, scheduled for November 15, in the penultimate round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The most ardent supporters of the Bosnian national team, grouped under the name “BH Fanaticos”, announced that they will not support the team in the match with the “tricolors”, accusing the Federation of Bosnia of refusing to give them tickets for the game in Zenica.

Bosnian ultras, at war with the federation: “We are insulted”

The “BH Fanaticos” group, known for its ultra-nationalist demonstrations, published a harsh statement on social networks:

We won't be at the game. We feel insulted by the Federation's decision not to offer us tickets.
The possibility of incidents is minimal now because we are the only ones using torches and other pyrotechnics.
There may only be anti-Federation chants, but nothing more.

According to Bosnian media, the Federation's decision to block the access of radical fans comes after repeated incidents at the national team's previous matches, which brought the country under UEFA monitoring.

Another offense could lead to a possible playoff game in the spring being played behind closed doors.

Bosnian officials took the measure to restrict the access of ultras groups to the game with Romania, considered a high-risk one, according to the sportsport.ba website.

The fans decided to respond with a total boycott: they will not go to the stadium, nor support the team outside the arena.

FRF confirmed: “The match is very high risk”

Before the opponents gallery decided not to show up, the Romanian Football Federation sent an official statement, in which they confirm the classification of the match as a “very high risk event”, following the assessment made together with the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Given the sporting importance of the match, the history of incidents between supporters and the tense context, special security measures were imposed,” FRF representatives said.

The FRF also stated that anyone traveling to Bosnia without official notification risks being denied entry into the country or the city of Zenica.

“Duly notified vehicles and groups will be placed under official police escort for the duration of their stay.”
