The coach of Metaloglobus, Mihai Teja, 47 years old, gave a reaction to GSP.ro, being stunned by the accusations involving the group from the Capital, but also some of his students

The newly promoted Metaloglobus Bucharest is involved in a scandal of great proportions, and the accusations are unprecedented. Specifically, some players are pointed at as having bet on their own team's matches, and a former employee of the club, the team, a masseur, was also involved in betting! Moreover, the said person gave astonishing testimonies, under the protection of anonymity, and there is also an ongoing investigation in this regard at the FRF.

The scandal was revealed on Monday by Prosport, in an investigation by Gabriel Berceanu and Daniel Nazare, and the cited source presented shocking reactions!

CONTEXT:

  • 4-5 footballers from Metaloglobus would have made several accounts on betting sites, through a staff member, and would have bet including against their team, prosport.ro revealed on Monday.

  • One of the indicated matches is the one with Oțelul, where the group of players would have bet “10,000 euros only on the fact that we will score at least two goals in the first half”;

  • The Integrity Department of the FRF has already started the investigations regarding the Metaloglobus matches.

  • Today, a new element in the scandal: a former employee of the staff makes startling testimony, claiming that he came to the team precisely to gather information to improve his chances of winning at bets!

The quoted source publishes the testimony of a “former masseur, who left the team a month ago, after a scandal with Mihai Teja's second-in-command”.

From the indications given in the published materials and the GSP information, the author of that testimony is Bogdan Codruț Crăciun, the masseur who was fired from Metaloglobus a month and a half ago.

Mihai Teja, stunned by the situation at Metaloglobus: “You can't know who you put in the house. Whoever has evidence, show it, let it be investigated. Let the police come, take them away, take them away!”

Gazeta Sporturilor got in touch today with coach Mihai Teja, 47 years old, who took over Metaloglobus in mid-June. The technician is stunned by the situation, but from the dialogue it appears that he still trusts his players, with whom he worked and works daily, waiting for the results of the investigation.

A man with a 25-year coaching career, Teja confessed that he and the players are looking to follow the squad's daily schedule, despite the hallucinatory allegations that have surfaced in the past dozen hours.

“Who writes, who does, whoever… Take it! I'm all for finding and eliminating those who do illegal things. I believe one hundred percent in my players, but if really there is evidence that someone, anyone, did it, go to… Let the Police come, take them, take them!

I repeat, if there are clear, concrete things, not like “I am, I am not”. I can't believe any of my players are involved. I can't believe it! Whoever has evidence to show it. And let those who did such things be eliminated. I can never, repeat, never believe that any player is involved. And I'm not just saying that…

“And I never knew about that masseur that he could be a bettor. Christmas, yes, him”

And I never knew about that masseur that he could be a bettor. I fired him for completely different reasons a month and a half ago, not those mentioned in this scandal. Christmas, yes, him. But in the end, you never know who you let into the house. You know what the word of God says: “Deliver me from the cunning one!”.

We are for the investigation to be carried out to the end, and whoever made a mistake, whoever, should pay. Let things be clear, not witchcraft. It's like me saying you're right-handed or ugly! The club will not stand idly by, it will sue the one, those who did these things,” Mihai Teja told GSP.ro.

How can I believe that my players could do illegal, unclean things?! I don't think they were waiting to promote to League 1 to make fools of themselves! I don't believe it, I don't believe it and that's it!
Mihai Teja, Metaloglobus coach

There is no mistrust now within the team, between us, in the group, in the family basically. I'm one hundred percent with the boys, that's how I feel about them. But whoever is wrong, let him pay. Let it be proven whether it is one way or the other, to shed light on this case. Because they are huge accusations
