Sławomir Mentzen with a cybertruck. The mystery of the photo solved

The vehicle, which does not meet European safety standards and cannot be registered in Poland, has caused a wave of speculation. As it turned out, the car drives on the streets of Bydgoszcz with Bulgarian license plates and was rented by a company that allows cryptocurrency withdrawals from ATMs.
The photo posted by Mentzen on X quickly became a hit, reaching 1.5 million views. Various theories appeared among Internet users – some thought that the Cybertruck, worth several hundred thousand zlotys, was a new purchase by a politician, others suspected that the photo had been modified using artificial intelligence. There were also voices reminding that the Tesla Cybertruck is illegal in Poland because it does not meet EU standards. And the co-president of the Confederation was criticized for his previous skepticism regarding electric cars and many comments about how they burn.
Cybertruck on Bulgarian plates
According to the information provided by “Fakt”, the vehicle that Mentzen boasted about is not his property, but it was only rented by Bitomatdealing with cryptocurrency services. The politician has defended the cryptocurrency market many times against legislation that would restrict it.
Bitomat promoted the car on social media, and in the published photos and recordings one could see Bulgarian license plates and elements with the bitcoin logo.
The Cybertruck had previously been seen on the streets of Bydgoszcz, which aroused the interest of local residents. Photos of the vehicle in various places in the city appeared on Facebook, with comments about its unusual appearance and markings. These photographs were published already in mid-October.
“I just drove it a bit”
Sławomir Mentzen commented on the confusion surrounding the photo, emphasizing that the car does not belong to him. “I'm glad that my photo with the Cybertruck aroused so much interest, but I didn't expect that everyone would think that I bought it 🙂 I only drove it a bit :)” – he wrote on the website X. He also added a short review of the vehicle, noting that registering this model in Europe is very difficult and unprofitable, and the weight of the vehicle makes it unsuitable for longer routes and it often needs to be charged.
“I drive a lot on highways, so for me Cybertruck is simply useless,” said the politician.
The Tesla Cybertruck, which aroused so much emotion, does not meet European safety standards due to its sharp body design and lack of approval on the EU market. Theoretically, it is possible to introduce certain modifications that would allow obtaining appropriate certificates, but this is an expensive and complicated process.
