On the night of November 9, police and riot police carried out a large-scale check at the Sabbath themed party at the Milana Hotel in Tomsk. The event, attended by about 1,000 people, was ended early.

According to the Baza telegram channel, security forces searched visitors and hotel premises for several hours. Seven people were reported detained, although event organizers claim they were not aware of the arrests.

“According to my information, government officials arrived at the event at about one in the morning, the reasons were not given, they checked the passports of visitors, we were not aware of the arrests,” organizer Katerina Rodionova told RIA Tomsk. She and her colleagues were invited to the police station to explain.

The party, which was supposed to last until 6 am, was stopped at 01:00. One of the participants in the event said that at first everything was going well, but then “the police with dogs and riot police came in.”

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Tomsk region has not yet commented on the situation. The Sabbath party has been held by the Tomsk event team ZEN since 2009 and is one of the most famous events in the city.
