Massive Russian attack on Ukraine: power outages in several regions and heavy fighting near Kharkiv
A new massive Russian attack targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, causing power outages in most regions of the country, Ukrainian Energy Minister Svitlana Grinciuk announced on Saturday morning, quoted by The Guardian.

“The enemy is again massively attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Because of this, emergency power cuts have been decided in several regions,” the official said. “The emergency interruptions will be canceled after the stabilization of the situation in the energy system”Grinciuk added.
The drone attacks hit an energy installation in the Odesa region, in the south of the country, on Friday evening. “An energy infrastructure installation was damaged”confirmed Governor Oleg Kiper, stating that there were no casualties.
In order to stabilize the energy system on the eve of winter, the Naftogaz company announced an agreement with the Polish company Orlen, through which it will import at least 300 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas from the USA. “Despite the plans of the enemy, Ukraine will have light and heat this winter”said the Minister of Energy.
On the front, President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russia is massing troops near the city of Vovceansk in the Kharkiv region, and that the offensive on Pokrovsk is aimed at achieving visible success for Moscow.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) confirmed that Russian troops had made small advances near the nearly destroyed city, trying to bring Kharkiv into artillery range. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian military reported that a group of Russian soldiers who filmed themselves raising a flag in Vovceansk were immediately taken out by Ukrainian drones.
