Daniel Băluţă, the first vice-president of the PSD and the party's candidate for the position of general mayor of the Capital, tried to explain, on Wednesday evening, why the size of the party's logo on its electoral boards is very small.
“You will see this time, and I have this conviction, that this city has had a miserable failure in general, electing politicians. I think it is necessary to elect people who know how. It is true, I am also a politician. Ninety percent I have this technical component, because to do things we need book science, we need technique, we need to constantly learn new things, and the difference, if you will, one percent, is that of politician”, said the mayor of Sector 4, in a show on Romania Tv.
“Why do I say this? Because every time you also need other state institutions in what you do. Including, if you look carefully at the way the electoral panels are presented, they reflect exactly this composition”, continued Băluță, quoted by News.ro.
When he was reminded that he is the first vice-president of the PSD, Băluţă replied: “Yes, and I am proud of this, but in these elections we are not voting for parliamentarians, in these elections we are voting for people, it is about electing people, as such I wanted to present exactly the proportion, from my point of view: 99% is about administration and results, only 1% politics”.
Irony from Drula
The fact that the PSD logo is very small was noted by Băluță's opponents in the race for the Capital City Hall, who ridiculed him on this subject.
“I think we also have some advertising displays, but Mr. Băluţă is the champion,” said Tuesday evening the USR candidate for the position of general mayor of Bucharest, Cătălin Drula, about the counter-candidate proposed by the PSD in the partial elections for the Capital.
“The networks behind you seem to have resources, I understand that he was asked today about the campaign budget and, I admit, he is a skilled politician, he gave 70 answers, but not a real one. It can be seen that there is a lot of money behind, there, but what is not much on your board, if you look, you really need a magnifying glass, or more recently it is even a sport, it has made more people with the zoom on the phone, is to look for the PSD logo. She it exists, but it's like in one of those games, it has to be found carefully”, said Cătălin Drula, to Euronews Romania.
Drula pointed out on Tuesday that Daniel Băluţă is a “PSD-ist sadea”, being the president of PSD Bucharest, and “the type of administration he did in Sector 4 is a PSD-ist”.
Shortly before the statements from Euronews Romania, Drula published a message on his Facebook page in which he wrote that “I stumbled upon a panel of Daniel Băluță blocking the sidewalk. I want to do an exercise together: look for the PSD logo. And write in the comments where you identify it.”

“I say that he cannot hide his past now, as he does with the logo. So let's remember who Mr. Băluță is, as the media has extensively documented,” added the USR candidate.
Also on Tuesday evening, Sorin Grindeanu, the interim leader of the social democrats, claimed that Daniel Băluță, the mayor of Sector 4, “leaves with the first chance” in the race to win Bucharest City Hall.

And then Grindeanu continued with a direct attack on Drula, precisely on the subject of the PSD “logo”.
“I saw something else, that some people are concerned about the size these days (…) the size of the PSD logo. You know that you have nothing to show, because you have nothing to show, these things concern you. Daniel Băluţă has done a lot of things for Sector 4 and at this moment he is extremely ready to do a lot of things for the whole of Bucharest”, added the interim president of the PSD.
