After the commission for investing in ETFs on IKE and IKZE accounts was reduced to zero by BOŚ and mBank brokerage houses, BM Santander decided to take an identical step. In his case, however, the promotion will last much longer, until the end of 2026.

On November 5, the Santander Brokerage House launched a promotion for ETFs under the tax umbrella. Investors trading in exchange-traded funds on IKE and IKZE accounts will be exempt from fees until the end of 2026.
BM Santander is the third brokerage house that has decided to follow this path. In September, mBank was the first to announce the abolition of fees on ETF transactions on IKE and IKZE accounts, followed four days later by DM BOŚ. In both cases, the promotion is scheduled to last until the end of February 2026.
Promotion at the Santander Brokerage House
As stated in the announcement by BM Santander, no commission will be charged on IKE and IKZE accounts for the next 14 months on transactions in ETF, ETN and ETC instruments, which applies to both the WSE and foreign markets. In addition, for the duration of the promotion, the broker will waive the collection of fees for storing securities.
The standard fee for storing instruments at BM Santander applies to portfolios worth over PLN 500,000, where the monthly turnover was less than 10% of the portfolio value. The monthly rate is 0.0015% + VAT for WSE instruments and 0.01% + VAT for foreign instruments.
The transaction cost at BM Santander for ETFs from foreign markets is 0.29%, with the minimum fee being PLN 25 or EUR/USD/GBP/CHF 5. In the case of funds listed on the WSE, the commission drops to 0.19% and a minimum of PLN 1.
It is worth noting that after the introduction of the promotion, all three brokerage houses – mBank, BOŚ and Santander have an offer of ETFs on IKE/IKZE accounts that is identical in terms of costs. Each of the above charges a 0.1% currency conversion fee, which, when purchasing foreign funds for PLN 10,000, would result in a commission of PLN 10.
Brokerage houses fight for customers
The appearance of promotions on IKE and IKZE accounts in subsequent brokerage houses coincides with the approaching deadline for using payment limits in 2025. Let us remind you that this year they amount to PLN 26,019 in the case of IKE, and in IKZE accounts – PLN 10,407.60 or PLN 15,611.40 (for people running a business).
In addition to mBank, DM BOŚ and BM Santander, which tempt customers with the temporary abolition of commissions, Alior Bank's Brokerage House is also trying to attract new investors, offering bonuses for deposits into IKE and IKZE in October. New accounts can receive up to PLN 400 for a deposit of PLN 16,000. The promotion is valid until the end of the year.
