George Ogăraru (45 years old), who is in charge of the Stella academy, did not forget that Emeric Ienei was the one who made his debut and posted a message on the day the legendary coach has passed away.
George Ogăraru did not forget that Emeric Ienei made his debut at Steaua, even before the legendary coach took the step to the national team, for his last adventure as a coach. Ogăraru paid tribute to the great Iena on social networks.

“For me, Nea Imi was special, besides the fact that he was a huge coach, he was also a huge man. He trusted me and saw me, he promoted me to a team with sensational players at the time, where I didn't even dream of reaching.
But he promoted me, got me playing, and for that I will be forever grateful. Because it is important that someone like Nea Imi gives you confidence at the beginning of your career. He believed in me and I will always thank him for that.
He remains for me a benchmark, of what a coach should look like, a man who wants to perform in sports. He was unique in behavior, he was a gentleman, a gentleman, a man of extraordinary common sense. It is irreplaceable! Both through performance, but also character, dignity, behavior, attitude! May God rest him!” said George Ogăraru, for GSP.ro.
I remember, and I will never forget this, when I was going through a not very good period at Steaua. At one point, I went and had a discussion with nea Imi. I told him that it would be better if he didn't put me in, that I wasn't in good shape, that he should put someone else in, that we would both be laughing.
I will never forget his answer: “If you think you will recover from the reserve position, you are sorely mistaken.” He kept me playing and I recovered. For this, and not only for this, I will remain grateful to him for the rest of my life.
