The US will impose a 10% tariff on all imports. Donald Trump stated this.
List of trade duties introduced by the States by country (what they are – explained here): China – 34%; European Union – 20%; Vietnam – 46%; Taiwan – 32%; Japan – 24%; South Korea – 25%; Thailand – 36%; Switzerland – 31%; Indonesia – 32%; Malaysia – 24%; Cambodia – 49%; Great Britain – 10%; South Africa – 30%.
According to him, this will lead to a “golden age” for the United States, and “jobs and factories will come roaring back to the country.” He also announced the introduction of a 25% duty on car imports from April 3.
In addition, Washington will use “trillions of dollars” of revenue from mirror duties to cut taxes and pay off the national debt, all of which will happen “very quickly.” States will begin to take care of the needs of their workers first.
Trump said that the United States covered the budget deficits of Canada, Mexico and many other countries, but is now stopping. In his opinion, Americans “take care of the whole world, pay for their armed forces, pay for everything they have to pay,” and when that stops, they get upset.
How Trump’s games with tariffs on the scale of the global economy could end, and why everything is not so rosy, was discussed in the Mash Room.
