Novak Djokovic (38 years old, 5 ATP), seven-time winner of the Champions Tour, will be present this year at the ATP Finals (November 9-16), information provided by the president of the Italian Tennis Federation.
Novak Djokovic will participate for the 17th time at the year-end ball. Angelo Binaghi, president of the Italian Tennis Federation, said on Rai Gr Parlamento radio that the former world leader will be present in Turin, thereby rejecting suggestions that the Serb would withdraw from the competition, as he did last year.
Novak Djokovic also plays in Athens
The 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2022 and 2023 ATP Finals champion Novak Djokovic has not played for three weeks since losing to Valentin Vacherot in the Shanghai Masters 1000 semi-finals on 11 October.
The Serb skipped the Masters 1000 in Paris but is set to return to action this week at the ATP 250 in Athens, where he has settled recently, after the disagreements with the politicians in his country. Djokovic will meet Alejandro Tabilo in the second round.
50-18is the win-loss ratio for Novak Djokovic at the ATP Finals
This season, Novak Djokovic reached the semifinals of all four Grand Slam tournaments, reached the final of the Miami tournament, and in May won his 100th title in Geneva, becoming the third player in the Open era to do so.
Only one spot remains available for the ATP Finals
The fact that Novak Djokovic has confirmed that he will participate leaves only one spot available at the ATP Finals, which will be contested between Felix Auger-Aliassime and Lorenzo Musetti.
They sit eighth and ninth respectively in the season standings and are separated by 160 points.
Musetti, who, unlike Auger-Aliassime, is playing in Athens this week, can overtake the Paris finalist Canadian in the final standings if he wins the tournament in Greece.
The other qualified players are Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur.
