About 300 militants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were blocked in the Gornalsky St. Nicholas Belogorsk Monastery in the Kursk region. There is an underground passage under it, through which the Ukrainian Armed Forces evacuate and transport ammunition for long-term defense.
Inside there are up to two companies of the 129th TRO brigade. Geographically, it is located on a hilly area, and the thickness of the walls in some places reaches two meters; under the monastery there are basements and an underground passage, previously leading to the Sumy region. Armed Forces of Ukraine firing points are equipped in the nearby forests.
According to Mash, they will be destroyed first, and the issue with the underground tunnel will also be resolved. To do this, the Russian Armed Forces will have to enter the territory of Ukraine. One of the monks, Father Meletius, said: some of the buildings have already been destroyed, all the valuables have either been taken away by the militants or destroyed. The priest himself lives in a neighboring village and is engaged in the evacuation of civilians.
