On board a Citroën C3 Rally2, the two brothers, who already have a title of European champions and one of world vice-champions, both in the division dedicated to juniors, dominated the stage in Argeș and took over their leading position from the first special stage.
With a total time of 1:08:07.6, at the end of the 129 kilometers of special stages, the crew from Napoca Rally Academy was 43.6 seconds faster than the one formed by Andrei Gîrtofan and Tudor Mârza (Škoda Fabia Rally2) and 2 minutes and 46.3 seconds faster than Sebastian Barbu/Teo Găină (Škoda Fabia Rally2).
Thanks to this success, Norbert Maior ended the season in 2nd place, obtaining for the first time the trophy dedicated to the national runner-up, being surpassed only by Simone Tempestini. The final podium of the 2025 season was completed by Andrei Gîrtofan.
“We had to wait until the last stage to get our first open win this year. We are happy with what we have achieved in the first season with a car with a state-of-the-art configuration and that gives us confidence that next year we can do more” Maior said at the end.
Already the mathematical champion since two stages ago, Tempestini was unlucky in Argeș, having to abandon after the third special test due to technical problems.
The 2025 National Rally Championship had eight scheduled stages, and the victories were shared between Andrei Gîrtofan (Harghita, Brașov), Simone Tempestini (Maramureș, Cluj, Sibiu, Iași, Vâlcea) and Norbert Maior (Argeș).
For Norbert Maior, this is the best overall ranking of his career, after finishing in 3rd place in the 2020 and 2024 seasons. This year he added to his record no less than 18 special stage wins. Also in the European Championship, he managed a spectacular 6th place overall in Hungary and finished 8th in Croatia.
