Liverpool wins again in the Premier League! Salah and Gravenberch brought victory to the “cormorants” in front of their own supporters

Liverpool imposed itself on its own ground in front of those from Aston Villascore 2-0, in a duel of the round with number 10 in the Premier League. Thus, Arne Slot's students put an end to the streak of four consecutive defeats in the championship.

The contest at Anfield started strongly and it was the visitors who squandered the first big chance to score. Just five minutes after the game's starting whistle, Morgan Rogers hit the post of Mamardashvili's goal with a shot sent from outside the box.
Dibu Martinez's error made the difference after the first 45 minutes
The Cormorants' reply came 10 minutes later when Dominik Szoboszlai tried his luck in turn with a long-range shot, but the ball went just wide of Emiliano Martinez's goal.
This fast pace of play was maintained throughout the first half, with both teams going close to opening the scoring time and time again. The most dangerous man in the hosts' camp was Hungary's Szoboszlai, who in addition to the aforementioned occasion twice more stretched the Villa keeper before providing the cross for Ekitike's goal, which was eventually ruled out for offside.
At the other end, the visitors' biggest chances were signed by Matty Cash and again by Morgan Rogers, but each time, Mamardashvili was on the post, managing to repel.
Just before the break, however, Liverpool managed to take the lead. Dibu Martinez made an inexplicable mistake, feeding the ball to Mohamed Salah inside the opposition box, and the Egyptian sent a first-time shot into Unai Emery's side's goal, taking into account his 250th goal in the “cormorants” shirt.
Thus, the champion of England entered the cabins with a minimal advantage on the table, score 1-0.

Gravenberch brought peace to Anfield against Villa
In the second act, the game did not have the same intensity as in the first 45 minutes, but nevertheless, Liverpool scored once more, thus securing the victory.
The goal was a lucky one. Ryan Gravenberch sent a shot from outside the box, the ball was deflected by both defenders of the visitors, thus fooling Martinez and into the goal.
Towards the end of the match, Unai Emery's students tried to press, hoping that they would manage to score to re-enter the match, but the attempts of the newcomers Sancho, Malen and Barkley did not give results, and in the end, the “cormorants” won 2-0.
After this result, the team from Anfield accumulated 18 points and climbed, for the moment, to the last step of the podium in England.
On the other hand, the formation from Birmingham remained at the post with number 15 and went down to the 11th place in the ranking.
In the next round of the Premier League, Liverpool will go to the Etihad Stadium for the derby with Manchester City, while Villa will receive the visit of the revelation Bournemouth.
Until then, however, the duels in the European cups from the middle of next week are coming up for the two teams. The “Cormorants” will have another fiery duel with Real Madrid at home in the Champions League, and Unai Emery's team will host Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa League.
