Almost a week away from “El Clasico”, the match that ended with the victory of Real Madrid, at home, with a score of 2-1, against Barcelona, the information came to light that a supporter of the hosts died during the match itself.
Real Madrid fan died during La Liga derby against Barcelona, according to Spanish media. It's about an Israeli fan who fainted immediately after home striker Kylian Mbappe missed a penalty in the 52nd minute. Earlier, in the 22nd minute, Mbappe opened the scoring.
Supporter dies during 'El Clasico'
According to the Spanish publication, bystanders and Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois signaled to the referee to stop the match, but this did not happen, and the game was allowed to continue as if nothing had happened, according to sportal.bg.
In such situations, matches are stopped until the situation is resolved.
The supporter received first aid from the stadium's medical staff and was later taken to hospital, but doctors were unable to save his life.
After that event in the 52nd minute, the score did not change, the hosts won 2-1, in a match in which two eliminations were also dictated in the end.
